Infrared camera offers wide temperature
range
Infrared Imaging Solutions (IIS) choose the FLIR Systems ThermaCAM P640 infrared camera not only for its superb image detail, but crucially for the wide temperature operating range.
On one day Infrared Imaging Solutions (IIS) could be commissioned to produce a detailed report on the thermal performance of a building And on the next be engaged to monitor the efficiency of a manufacturing process

Infrared camera used in marine testing
North Rivers Marine has become the UK's first marine engineering consultancy to include thermal imaging surveying within its scope of services
The scope of this thermographic consultancy's work is very broad with each application bringing its own survey criteria.
So for IIS the introduction of an infrared camera that could guarantee superb image detail irrespective of how far away the target may be was very good news.
But the deciding factor for IIS was this camera's ability to hold this resolution across an exceptionally wide temperature range.

Highly sensitive infrared camera is versatile
Having already produced the smallest infrared cameras with the widest range of high-end features a company has now combined a highly sensitive infrared detector with versatile post processing.
Infrared camera prices get lower
Price is considered to be no longer an obstacle to put infrared to work in any facility now that a low-cost camera that offers more choice and contains more standard features is available.
For Managing Director, Martin Burton, the decision to buy the FLIR Systems ThermaCAM P640 infrared camera was easy.
"We quickly recognised this was far more advanced than any other camera in the market," he explained.
"We now have the confidence of knowing that it can be used in any situation we come across, it has no limitations".
The ThermaCAM P640 has been developed to provide the professional thermographer with the means to accomplish infrared inspections more thoroughly, efficiently and quickly.
It is the first ever plant maintenance camera to have a 640 x 480 pixels uncooled detector.
This larger FPA provides an image resolution that is four times greater than that of a 320 x 240 model.
It also allows the thermographer to take an image at twice the distance away from the target as its forerunner without any loss of accuracy.
As more pixels cover the target the powerful analysis tools can be used with even greater potency.
"Very few applications are in ideal conditions," Martin continues.
"The camera's digital zoom facility allows us to pick out the smallest details and capture a perfect image".
As the camera takes larger images, fewer are also needed to take the complete picture and this is especially important when IIS is involved in building thermography.
In addition to the new ThermaCAM Report 8 software the company also uses FLIR Systems' Image Builder to create a single composite picture.
In conclusion Martin returns to the ThermaCAM's key strength.
"Image quality is highly important to our customers and in this regard the ThermaCAM P640 is second to none.
It makes identifying potential problems very easy and allows us to convey that information to our customers very effectively.
In short it enables us to provide an even better service". Request a free brochure from Flir Systems ...
