Infrared camera is smallest and lightest
FLIR Systems claimed to have developed the world's smallest, lightest and most affordable infrared camera, costing under GBP 2000, for finding electrical and heating problems.
To widen the scope of infrared, FLIR Systems has just introduced its i5 pocket-sized infrared camera that will sell for just GBP 1990.00 and is guaranteed to provide a rapid return on investment, said the company.
The i5 pocket-sized infrared camera will add value to service and has the potential to boost profitability significantly, said FLIR.
It will even allow the user to look at new applications to minimise energy loss.
FLIR told manufacturingtalk that the i5 is the first infrared camera of its kind on the market in terms of weight, size, functionality and price.
Weighing less than 340g it has an 80 x 80 pixel IR resolution and thermal sensitivity of 60mK that provides a clear infrared image.
Faults can be identified and remedial action taken and a long life battery provides up to 5h of continuous operation.
* Temperature measurement - the i5 will measure temperatures up to +250 deg C and it can detect thermal differences as small as 0.10 deg C.
A bright 2.8in LCD displays images on the camera.
This measurement range enables the camera to meet the needs of a very wide range of mechanical, electrical and plumbing applications in domestic, commercial and industrial environments, said FLIR.
FLIR added that the i5 is multi-purpose camera, easy to use and requires no former experience.
The user can simply point, shoot and detect hotspots.
The resultant JPG images carry all the necessary temperature data and can be stored on a built-in SD card or directly onto a PC for analysis or e-mail.
Available via a Europe-wide distribution network the i5 has FLIR QuickReport software for image analysis and easy creation of reports in PDF format.
Also standard within the package are a 512MB mini SD card, Li-Ion rechargeable battery with adaptor/charger, USB cable and built-in lens shutter, hand strap, manual and user CD.
