New Athena AM change management framework
Athena AM, A Unique Change Management Framework for Application Modernisation Projects has been launched
Flynet has announced the launch of Athena AM, which is a unique Change Management Framework designed to address the change implications of Application Modernisation projects on iSeries and other legacy systems.
Unlike other frameworks that often fail to deliver businesses objectives, Athena AM creates a direct relationship between business processes and the expectations of stakeholders.
Flynet say that this clear linkage of a project to its relevant stakeholder expectations gives staff a better understanding of why they are being asked to change, thus ensuring better results.
New projects or initiatives, and changes to existing projects slot easily into the overall strategic framework, progress towards the achievement of business results can be easily monitored across a portfolio of projects, and possible failures are highlighted immediately.
Also, in organisations with several divisions delivering a similar service, process templates can be developed to reduce the overall cost of delivering change across the group.
Athena AM is based on 15 years of research by Dr Ashley Braganza of FirstConsult Services who has been working with Flynet to adapt it for Application Modernisation projects.
Dr Braganza is also a senior lecturer and Director of the IT Directors' Forum at the Cranfield University School of Management.
He directs major Business Process Orientation (BPO) and Knowledge Management initiatives.
Andrew Bentinck, Managing Director at Flynet commented "Our customers have a lot on their plate already.
Now we are talking to them about the future; web services, SOA,.NET, J2EE and a wealth of new technologies that promise to equip them for doing business tomorrow.
This gives them a lot to think about, but whatever they decide, one thing is certain - it means change and Athena AM is the first framework to specifically address this market".
Flynet and FirstConsult will be running a joint morning workshop on Application Modernisation and managing the change implications of AM projects in London in the near future.
