Free test tools offered with power analyser

A Fluke (UK) product story

Free test tools are being offered with an electrical power quality analyser package that combines analysis functions with an oscilloscope, digital multimeter and data recorder.

Fluke is now offering free test tools with its Power Quality Analyser package.

The Category III 600V safety-compliant Fluke 43B is targeted at electrical engineers, utility technicians, electrical contractors, facility engineers, industrial equipment technicians and many others who have to deal with power supplies and networks in their everyday work.

The Fluke 43B combines analysis capabilities with an oscilloscope, digital multimeter and data recorder in a rugged and compact handheld package.

The standard 43B package is now supplied with two free Fluke products which are useful for power quality investigations - the VPS40 10:1 oscilloscope voltage probe which enables capture of signals with a bandwidth of up to 20 MHz, and a 61 IR Thermometer for temperature readings of rotating, electrically live, dangerously hot, or hard-to-reach objects.

Standard accessories with the 43B include a 500A Current Clamp, the 80i500s; FlukeView Power Quality software; test leads, probes and clips; and a hard carrying case.

FlukeView Power Quality software supports logging, reading and display of all harmonics right down to the 51st, including THD and phase angles of individual harmonics, as well as all other readings from the 43B's display.

After downloading to a PC, data from the 43B can be analysed and included in reports.

The 43B is the ideal tool to quickly solve many common problems in the power domain: tripping circuit breakers, overheating transformers and cables, motors that burn out, lamps that flicker and computers that fail with no visible cause.

With its ability to show current and voltage waveforms, calculate power parameters and capture voltage sags and swells, transients and inrush currents, underlying power quality problems can be identified, so that the appropriate corrective measures can be taken.

Together with its power functions, the Fluke 43B includes multimeter functions as well as a 25 MS/s dual-input digital oscilloscope with advanced triggering capabilities.

The 43B has 20 storage locations for settings, waveform data and readings which can be recalled for later analysis using cursors.

Fluke also offers power recorders for 3-phase and single phase systems through its RPM brand.

The company is involved in this year's 'Power Quality in Low Voltage Installations' seminar programme, organised by the Copper Development Association (CDA).
