Verifying Electro-Hydraulic Control Systems

A Fluke (UK) product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Oct 5, 2004

A handheld Fluke ScopeMeter oscilloscope with LCD display technology is the ideal solution to provide insight into system circuit behaviour.

The electronic sensors, controllers, actuators and valves used to control hydraulic systems on cranes, earth moving equipment, presses, injection moulding machines and other heavy-duty equipment can prove difficult to service, maintain and install.

A handheld Fluke ScopeMeter oscilloscope with LCD display technology is the ideal solution to provide insight into the system circuit behaviour.

A downloadable Application Note from the Fluke web site explains how special in-built functionality of the ScopeMeter can be used, for example, to adjust valve control voltages, to ensure highly accurate positioning of the piston rod, and to ensure correct alignment of sensor output signals.

The Fluke ScopeMeter 123 and 124 are truly integrated test tools with safety certification to 600V CAT III.

They combine the three most frequently used service tools: a dual-input oscilloscope with 20 MHz or 40 MHz bandwidth, a true-rms multimeter and a 'paperless' recorder in one affordable, easy to use instrument.

The unique 'Connect-and-Viewâ' hands-off trigger functionality recognises signal patterns and automatically sets up correct triggering.

It provides a stable and repeatable display of virtually any signal.

The Fluke120 Series low-speed signal display capabilities and cursor function make these instruments ideal for measuring and analysing hydraulic control signals, and their rugged battery-powered capabilities enable them to work in all the environments where hydraulic systems are employed.

The Application Note 'Verifying hydraulic control system operation with a Fluke ScopeMeter 120 Series' can be freely downloaded from Fluke's web site.
