Fluke has announced that the DTX-1800 Digital CableAnalyzer is available for immediate rental at Advanced Test Equipment Rentals.

The Fluke DTX-1800 Digital CableAnalyzer is said to offer a complete solution that streamlines each aspect of the certification job, from set-up, testing and troubleshooting, to reporting results.

It performs Cat 6 certification tests in 12 seconds, in full compliance with industry standards.

When a link fails, it provides quick, easy-to-understand directions to identify the point of failure (distance from the tester) and the possible reason for the failure.

These directions recognise the problem and identify corrective actions to follow in order to solve the problem quickly.

The DTX fibre modules accelerate testing through exclusive technology and an easy-to-use interface, according to Fluke.

Users can get standards-compliant certification automatically by testing two test fibres, each at two wavelengths, measuring length and determining pass/fail status - all in about 12 seconds.

The fibre modules allow a user to test more fibres in less time, cutting testing costs and freeing up much-needed time for other tasks.

The DTX-1800 offers optional on-board fibre modules and allows users to switch between copper and fibre with the touch of a button.

The DTX also supports testing up to 900MHz.

This extended bandwidth supports the ISO Class F links as well as emerging standards such as 10 Gigabit Ethernet over twisted-pair cabling.

It also allows users to certify links for other applications, such as video distribution over twisted-pair cabling.

The Fluke DTX-1800 is also said to cut set-up and reporting times and its extended battery life means you can do more on a single charge.
