Robot's anthropomorphic arm offers large
envelope
The fast 5-axis M-430iA/2F Robot from Fanuc, with a reach of 900mm, is capable of carrying out horizontal or vertical product placement positions.
For food manufacturers, a fast-acting, 5-axis robot, with a long reach distance of 900mm can place items in horizontal or vertical positions A a fast-acting, 5-axis robot, with a long reach distance of 900mm, is for the picking of primary and secondary foods

GBP 1 million robotics spend increases efficiency
Two robotic machine cell management systems at a specialist automotive parts supplier helps it to meet customers' 'costs down' requirements as well as overcoming operator skills shortages.
Called the M-430iA/2F Robot, FANUC Robotics said it can carry out horizontal or vertical product placement positions.
In its design, the robot has an anthropomorphic arm that provides a large working envelope of up to 1.8m diamter.
The robot can quickly rotate or flip back on itself.

The first of a new generation of 'Ready to go' fully enclosed routing cells has been designed to be 'up and running' and producing 'in tolerance' products within hours of unloading.
if required, to cover an area of up to 1.8m diameter.
The arm anthropomorphic arm can also be mounted vertically to give clear access for maintenance ipurposes.
The robot can also be mounted on a base.
In operation the robot has two high-speed heavy duty motors for each of the major movement axes - joints one, two and three - and uses FANUC's Dual Drive Torque, Tandem Control technology.
The drive technology enables the robot to reach very high speeds when carrying out the industry standard benchmark test.
Under the test the robotic arm moves up vertically 25mm, horizontally 300mm and then down 25mm.
In doing so, the M-430iA/2F Robot reaches 120 cycles/min when carrying a 1kg payload and 100 cycles/min with a 2kg payload.
To comply with hygienic conditions, the M-430iA/2F has a smooth exterior surface with no contaminant trap areas.
Also the paint used on the robot has a high gloss finish and is resistant to acids and alkaline materials.
The M-430iA/2F Robot meets IP 67 sealing standards and has double seals on the major axes.
These precautions withstand hose down cleaning and keep fluids out.
Also the seals that its food grade grease stays within the durable casings.
The M-430iA/2F has nylon gears in joints four and five and do not need lubrication.
An 'intelligent' controller - the R-30iA provides better performance, can control more robot arms and has an integrated vision control system.
The R-30iA controller has improved vibration control, which gives the robot's drive motors to faster acceleration and deceleration times - an essential requirement for high speed food picking operations.
Where machine vision systems are used, the R-30iA controller's iRVision system helps reduce machine vision system integration time and cost.
Only the machine vision camera has to be added.
The iRVision system manages all image processing on the robot controller.
Also, by using direct connection to the FANUC web server it provides intuitive set-up information.
The controller teach pendant displays clear camera image and programming data, making it easier for installation engineers to access information.
The R-30iA controller can operate up to 40 axes travels.
One controller used in multi-arm mode, can control four arms and four auxiliary axes groups.
To further reduce the additional control hardware common to any installation, the R-30iA controller can be completed with its own Programmable Machine Controller (PMC).
The PMC has an integrated monitor, which allows the user to monitor the PMC ladder in a graphic display for all levels and sub programs that reside in the controller. Request a free brochure from Fanuc Robotics (UK) ...
