Modular safety interlocks bridge a key gap
A range of modular interlocks successfully bridge the gap between trapped key and gate switch technologies.
The mGard range consists of robust modular units which control access to enclosed areas.
Available in one to ten module versions, Fortress offers a patented sequencing system with up to 39,000 different sequences in a ten module arrangement.
Simple to configure, the units can be easily extended, or trimmed down and the surplus modules used elsewhere.
The company's door module, bolt module and key exchange modules are all now available with 20A, 32A, 63A or 150A rotary switches.
When a key is inserted and turned the contacts on the switch are changed.
The modules can therefore be used to used to isolate power, controlling access to potentially hazardous areas until a safe condition has been achieved.
The mGard modules feature a slim, attractive die-cast zinc body with pearl bronze finish.
The internal contact components and keys are constructed using stainless steel.
Fully stainless steel versions of the modules are also available.
Tested to over 1,000,000 operations, they require minimal maintenance.
The rotary switches are approved to BS, CSA, GOST, IEC and UL standards and are tested to at least 75,000 operations.
There are four mounting options - panel, enclosure, back of board panel and concealed.
Within a modular arrangement the 20A and 32A switches may be fitted behind each lock.
The 63A and 150A switches must not have any switch fitted behind any immediately adjacent module.
