A Fortuntec Solutions product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Jul 9, 2009

Fortuntec Solutions provides a range of services including product design and development, plus production and sourcing of products.

The company registration is in Hong Kong and the factories are located in southern China.

The work force is about 450 and comprises project engineers, electronic engineers, tooling technicians, machinists, production, procurement and quality assurance staff and workers.

Fortuntec's technical team handles the entire design and development process - product idea creation, conceptual design and feasibility study, detail design, prototype fabrication, final blueprint review, tooling fabrication, test shot and debugging, part approval and product assembly.

Customers state their requirements in brief descriptions, specifications, samples, preliminary sketches, drawings, or as a problem.

The technical team reviews the requirements and operational needs, and then proposes a product solution in a cost-effective and timely manner.

The company undertakes: engineering work; new product concept development; engineering design; parts and products drawings and 3D solid modelling; prototype fabrication (both rapid prototyping and manual fabrication); production part approval process (PPAP); material selection and specification; design for production; manufacturing process development; product redesign and cost reduction; project management; and mould and tooling fabrication.

The mould factory specialises in the design and construction of injection moulds.

It uses an integrated CAD/CAM system that consists of 3D CAD modelling software and a set of machinery such as CNC machining centres, CNC lathes, EDMs, wire-cut machines, milling machines, engraving machines, lathes, grinding machines, boring machines and moulding machines.

The engineering team designs and fabricates a wide range of moulds and dies - from small miniature applications (precision electrical components and model cars) to large products, such as television chassis and plastic containers, in single cavity to multi-component, and hot runner applications.

The tooling is built according to specific needs - for example, product design, expected cycle time and moulding machine specification.

Mould test shots are conducted in-house.

Parts are inspected by QA to verify that they conform to the design concept and specifications before being submitted for approval.

The engineering team can design products for automotive, toys and gifts, pet, electrical appliance, lighting, PCBA, electrical components, electronic equipment chassis, and other industries.
