Automatic Hole Drilling with iges files
Traditionally 2D drilling was left to the machine programmers on the shop floor 3, 4 and 5 axes being the areas concentrated on with the majority of CAM systems today.
With the ability to import captured data from any digitizing source, robotic, mechanical or optical, ReEng Advanced is braking down the borders between STL and surface/solid modelling.
But reading the data is only part of the solution, the manipulation of this data and integration into surface and solid models is all included Using ReEng Advanced powerful STL trimming functionality, STL meshes can be cut directly with planes and surfaces, then seamlessly integrated into the final hybrid model, which can comprise of surface, solid and STL.
This resulting model can then be machined with the integrated NC functionality, therefore completing the prototyping process in one solution.

Machine control benefits even modern machines
It is said that the latest machines, with modern controls, can benefit from NCspeed, because they cannot predict the material removal from previous cutters and stock allowances specified.
In the world of freeform models and intricate parts, as manufactures and designers you are looking for ways to shorten time to market.
Concept models that look great in clay or foam need to be converted into data that production machines expect.
In design sensitive industries, where physical models are still the first operation.
These could be fashion, automotive or anything that has an aesthetic constraint, before the actual engineering function.
From ski boots to designer goggles, from F1 race cars to mobile phones.
Your imagination is the limit.
If you are a Design house that is producing concept models, from modified real existing parts it will benefit you in rapid turnaround, and customer satisfaction.
Rapid tooling can be manufactured from prototype models.
This will allow greater numbers of prototype parts to be produced in soft tooling, quicker.
This approach minimises the time and overhead associated with manual CAD model creation for minor design changes or part upgrades.
Designers benefit from easy on screen simulation and manipulation of models.
This also ensures that the model changes are recorded for manufacturing processes.
At the other end of the market, there are companies that have had tooling manufactured in low cost areas of the world, but do not have the CAD data.
When a repair or modification is needed, ReEng Advanced comes in to its own.
Just digitise the area in question, read it into ReEng Advanced and Cimatron will do the rest.
From the cloud points spline's and surfaces can be generated, then passed to the CAM for processing.
ReEng Advanced is a reverse engineering toolkit - integrating powerful reverse engineering orientated tools into CimatronE's tool making solution.
ReEng Advanced provides tools for the creation, manipulation and editing of point clouds, NURBS curves/surfaces and STL data all within CimatronE.
