A secret Weapon in increasing the effectiveness of your Oil : Water Separator by reducing oil content by up to 6 kg per week.

Digestion of oil by bacteria impregnated Biotubes can reduce the oil content of separators by up to 6 kg of oil per week thus massively increasing the separators' effectiveness and reducing costs of their clean out.

Separators are designed to separate oil from water allowing "clean" water to be discharged to controlled waters - river or stream.

Under European Standard EN 858 industrial separators are defined as either 'class 1' with a discharge limit of 5mg/ltr or, 'class 2' with a discharge limit of 100mg/ltr.

EN 858 also sets standards for oil separating performance.

As oil concentration builds in a separator so the need to pump out the separator grows.

Biotubes are bacteria impregnated socks which can digest up to 2kg of oil per week for up to 6 months.

The product floats within the separator chambers absorbing and digesting free oils.

The Biotubes can remain active for between 6 and 8 months.

For best effect one tube should be placed in the second chamber and two tubes in the third chamber.

This configuration would enable up to 6kg of oil to be digested per week.

Biotubes are available from Fosse Liquitrol who is a leading member of the Sorbents Manufacturing group of the British Safety Industry Federation and maintains a strong programme of product development.
