Spill awareness and response training
The British Safety Industry Federation has introduced an accreditation scheme for training courses for operatives in awareness and response to liquid spills.
Increasingly both the Environment Agency and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency are looking beyond simply having adequate spill control prevention methods and equipment on site, to the awareness among first line operatives of the serious consequences of spills and leaks of equipment and the competence to know what to do about them In parallel to this, as part of the preparation for ISO 14001 or as part of the environmental improvement programme required by companies registered for ISO 14001, professional training is of increasing interest
