Invensys' perpetual license with ExxonMobil
Invensys Process Systems has signed a perpetual license agreement with ExxonMobil Research and Engineering to provide its SimSci-Esscor simulation software.
Invensys Process Systems has signed a perpetual license agreement with ExxonMobil Research and Engineering to provide its SimSci-Esscor simulation software, Dynsim, to ExxonMobil's worldwide affiliates.
As part of the agreement, Invensys is ExxonMobil's preferred operator training simulator (OTS) provider.
Invensys has also extended its long-term license agreement with ExxonMobil to provide SimSci-Esscor process simulation, heat transfer and flow network modelling software to ExxonMobil affiliates worldwide.
Both contracts include software licenses, engineering services, technical support and training.
The agreements provide for the standardisation of SimSci-Esscor SIM4ME steady state and dynamic process simulation software for new and existing plants and facilities throughout ExxonMobil worldwide affiliate locations.
The agreements add the use of Dynsim for dynamic engineering studies, the use of Trisim Plus for control system checkout of Triconex control logic and the use of Dynsim software and project implementation services for the development of operator training simulators.
The agreements also provide for the continued long-term use of the PRO/II for steady state simulation and design, Hextran for heat exchanger network design and analysis, Inplant and Visual Flow for fluid flow network and flare system analysis and Pipephase and Netopt for multi-phase fluid flow networks analysis and optimisation.
Alastair Fraser, vice president of Invensys's SimSci-Esscor unit, said: "We are pleased that ExxonMobil has extended its relationship with Invensys as a provider of steady state and dynamic process simulation, including heat exchange and pipeline simulation software within the SIM4ME common modelling environment.
We are also very pleased that ExxonMobil has standardised on SimSci-Esscor for process design, operator training simulators (OTS) and real-time optimisation (RTO).
This will allow ExxonMobil to reap benefits with a consistent modelling framework in the design, operate and optimise phase of a plant's lifecycle.
We have worked closely with ExxonMobil for many years as a technology partner, providing increased value to its worldwide affiliates.".
