The Avantis unit of Invensys Process Systems has introduced an enhanced version of Invensys' award-winning intelligent real-time condition monitoring and management solution Among other improvements, the Invensys Condition Monitoring (CM) version 2.1 solution integrates with many new data sources and systems to provide even more effective early detection and analysis of impending plant equipment failures

New workflow and reporting features are also included.

"Invensys CM provides a predictive early warning system that allows organizations to move from a reactive environment, to a proactive environment where they can effectively predict and prevent problems before they occur to be able to focus resources on improving asset performance.

The solution brings together operations, engineering and maintenance to deliver the optimum level of availability at the lowest possible cost, driving improved asset contribution," said Neil Cooper, general manager of the Avantis unit of Invensys Process Systems.

Real-time condition monitoring, as provided by Invensys CM2.1, represents a critical element within Invensys' recently introduced InFusion enterprise control system (ECS).

InFusion ECS provides a powerful enabling platform for implementing plant- and enterprise-wide asset performance management solutions that help process manufacturers to identify and achieve the optimum balance between asset availability and utilization.

The Invensys Condition Monitoring 2.1 solution includes the following new features: * Support for ArchestrA Industrial Application Server as a data source - enables CM 2.1 to utilize real-time or historical data from virtually all intelligent plant equipment and systems and to interact with the new InFusion offerings.

* Support for OPC Alarms and Events - extends OPC access to bring together raw data points with alarm and event information to provide the full context for emerging conditions.

* Association Templates and Batch Load - helps speed and simplify configuration through automated re-use of existing device and asset definitions and the ability to pre-load the environment from the engineering design tool(s).

* Microsoft BizTalk Integration - simplifies integration with enterprise systems and provides complex workflow support for the management of critical conditions * XSL reports - eXtensible Stylesheet Lanugage (XSL) makes it easy for users to create HTML reports for remote Web viewing and printing * Integrated Windows Security - enables users to take advantage of Microsoft's continuously evolving security mechanisms to help protect process environments from viruses and unauthorized access Invensys recently demonstrated many of these new real-time condition monitoring and management capabilities during a global launch event for the new InFusion enterprise control system at the JFK Library in Boston, Massachusetts.

The new InFusion enterprise control system combines industry-leading capabilities from across Invensys with advanced enterprise information and integration technologies from both Microsoft and SAP to dramatically reduce integration costs.

With InFusion technology, most existing plant floor and enterprise systems can now be cost-effectively integrated into a common system.

In conjunction with a suite of new performance services, Invensys' InFusion system will help industrial enterprises more effectively align plant operations and maintenance departments with the business to optimize overall asset performance management.
