Ken Brown, has been named acting president of Foxboro automation supplier Invensys Process Systems, succeeding Mike Caliel, who has moved on to Integrated Electrical Services Well-respected industry executive, Ken Brown, has been named acting president of Foxboro, Massachusetts, USA-based automation solution supplier Invensys Process Systems following yesterday's announcement that former Process Systems president, Mike Caliel, has accepted the role of president and chief executive officer of Houston, Texas-based Integrated Electrical Services

Under his leadership, Brown has helped drive accelerated growth at several Invensys business units in recent years.

These include both the SimSci-Esscor simulation software group and the Foxboro Measurements and Instruments group.

Previously, Brown, who is better known throughout the automation industry simply as 'KB', led the company's Analytical Instrumentation group.

KB has been with Invensys for almost 14 years.

In his roles as general manager of SimSci-Esscor and Foxboro M and I, KB helped formulate and execute Invensys Process Systems'current business strategy.

This strategy has successfully unified the previously separate Foxboro, Triconex, SimSci-Esscor, and Avantis brands and related services organizations into a single, cohesive business entity focused on delivering advanced automation technology (including the recently introduced InFusion enterprise control system) and comprehensive asset performance management solutions to leading global customers in the chemical, oil and gas, refining, power, pulp and paper, pharmaceuticals, and other process industries.

In his interim role as acting president of Invensys Process Systems, KB will head a strong and experienced management team.

This team includes highly regarded executives such as Chris Lyden (Global Marketing), John Derbyshire (Global Solutions), Ginny Burnell (North American Operations), Patrick Buffet (EMEA Operations), Jeswant Gill (Asia-Pacific Operations), Ricardo Agnostinelli (Latin American Operations), and other seasoned executives.

Commented Ulf Henriksson, chief executive officer of Invensys, "Mike Caliel has been a great leader for Invensys Process Systems and will surely be missed.

Clearly, the appeal to move up to a chief executive's role in a company headquartered in close proximity to his family, was too strong for Mike to pass up.

However, we have every confidence that Ken Brown is exactly the right person to provide the clear vision and strong leadership that Invensys Process Systems needs to complete the execution of its current strategy, which has so far exceeded our expectations.".
