Mori Seiki with head offices in Nagoya, Japan, is a pioneer in machine tool building.
Founded in 1948 the corporation has launched over the years about one hundred different lathe and machining center series, all NC/CNC models, a total of well over 150,000 units.

Mori Seiki employs about 3,440 personnel worldwide who in the business year 2004/2005 (ending on March 31) achieved a turnover of about EUR 900 million, corresponding to a growth of nearly 40% over the previous year.
The net profit accruing to the company under the management of Dr Masahiko Mori amounted to EUR 69 million.
The three Japanese production sites (Iga, Nara, and Chiba) turn out a total of six hundred machines each month.
Half of these Mori Seiki sells in its homeland Japan - a quantity unequalled by any other machine tool manufacturer.
Recent years have seen the company's dedication in Europe get off to a good start.
Various sites have been set up and developed, with particular emphasis on direct sales in Germany.
The central office in Wernau was joined last year by sales and service branches in Hamburg and Munich.
In July 2005 Mori Seiki finally took over the new machine line and the services division of its year-long exclusive representative Stiens, at the same time establishing its fourth direct branch in Germany.
October of this year will witness the inauguration of the new technical center in Willich near Dusseldorf.
At the heart of Mori Seiki's success are above all the CNC machines characterized by high precision, high availability, and the constant innovations by eighteen development teams numbering 422 personnel throughout the world.
To obtain the optimal quality these teams for example apply design analyses based on active 3D cutting simulations at so-called DTLs (digital technology laboratories) in Japan and the USA.
Owing to the different time zones you could say the DTLs work in 24h shifts, sending each other their results online for further processing.
In particular the most recent machine series, the so-called N Series consisting of the NL, NH, NV, and the new NT, profit from these analyses.
In June 2005 Mori Seiki set a clear example by establishing a new technology center in Paris.
This new TC is only five minutes' drive from Charles de Gaulles Airport in Paris, 1500m2 of showroom hosting a permanent exhibition of 30 machines in action.
Customers and prospective buyers from all over Europe are given the opportunity here to witness first hand the convincing quality of Mori Seiki CNC lathes and machining centers.
While Paris is undergoing development as a central site for European customers, Mori Seiki is also consolidating its present European administrative center in Wernau near Stuttgart.
The capacities there will be expanded before the year is out, a measure that is primarily to benefit sales and replacement parts supply - although the present service figures are considerable: 88% of all replacement parts requests are dispatched within 24h.
In Germany competent service technicians are on standby seven days a week.
A standard hotline number automatically connects the caller to the nearest service center - for only EUR 0.09 per minute from the German fixed network.
The telephones for customer enquiries are operated daily from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm and on weekends from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
There are Mori Seiki branches in the key cities of every continent: 78 technology centers support customers on site. Request free introductory details about products from Mori Seiki UK ...
