Mori Seiki wins GBP 3.8 million orders
at MACH '08
Builder of machining centres and turning centres, Mori Seiki, recorded sales of GBP 3.8 million at MACH 2008 and won an MWP Productivity Award during the show.

The customer had anticipated payback within 16 months on its investment in Mori Seiki SL403 machines and six months on its new Mori Seiki NL 2500 SY 700.
Furthermore, at Hunting's Badentoy, UK, site, Mori Seiki machines have been operating continuously for 20 years in particularly arduous conditions.
The machines thread seam welded 20in diameter pipe and produce 1500 to 2000 pipes/week in a range of diameters and in lengths up to 48ft (14.6m).
Machine tool features that achieve very low levels of vibration and unparalleled levels of rigidity and speed are as folows.
* DCG (Driven at the Centre of Gravity).
* DDM (Direct Drive Motor).
* ORC (Octagonal Ram Construction).
* BMT (Built-in Motor Turret) A second customer cutting parts in Super Duplex, 100mm diameter with a 5mm wide insert with a requirement for parallelism of less than 10 micron, had had problems with insert life.
His existing machine, purchased from a major competitor to Mori Seiki, was only completing five components/insert.
By manufacturing the same part on his recently installed Mori Seiki NL3000, insert life increased to an 70 components/insert - only one example of how Mori Seiki technology can improve productivity and profitability.
* Dixi machine tools - Mori Seiki has increased its range offering Dixi machines to companies requiring exceptional levels of precision and Tobler workholding solutions for locating and holding complex turned parts.
Mori Seiki also demonstrated its Mori Net system, which monitors machine performance and provides remote diagnostics.
This feedback helps users of its machine tools to maximise productivity by ensuring their machine is operating at the peak of its capabilities at all times, said Mori Seiki.
