USB camera simplifies control

A Firstsight Vision product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Nov 1, 2004

Firstsight Vision is offering a new range of small bodied machine vision USB2 cameras from IDS.

There has been something of an explosion of different transfer techniques in recent years, based on a whole host of different data transfer protocols.

This offers the vision developer a great deal of choice in the way they proceed with any potential application, but presents a confusing array of competing systems to choose from.

Firstsight Vision is offering a new range of small bodied machine vision USB2 cameras from IDS.

The uEye camera range has an enclosure measuring an astounding 32x34x41(mm) and is the smallest cameras that we sell at Firstsight Vision.

The range includes colour and monochrome versions at resolutions from 640 x 480 up to 1280 x 1024 at bit depths of 8, 10 and 12 bits depending on the model.

The uEye range of cameras benefits from a unique SDK that allows the control of ALL camera functions via the USB cable, substantially simplifying the cabling and control.

With USB2 handling the data transfer, there is no requirement for any frame grabber in the host PC and the protocol offers transmission distances of up to 30M and even greater distances if hubs are used!.
