Compact colour camera has better interface

A Firstsight Vision product story

Compact progressive scan RGB colour machine vision camera has an improved digital interface as well as rear mounted power and trigger LEDs for diagnosis and system set-up.

The JAI CV-M71 is a compact 1/2in, progressive scan RGB colour machine vision camera using the CameraLink interface, and is an indirect replacement for the popular CV-M70.

It features the same functionality that made that previous model so successful, with the addition of an improved digital interface as well as rear mounted power and trigger LEDs for diagnosis and system set-up.

Based on the latest Bayer CCD, the CV-M71 features a Sony sensor with 782 x 582 x 8.3 micron square pixels.

Measuring just 40 x 50 x 80, the camera operates at 60 fps at full resolution, and 250 fps at 1/8 partial scan with 24-bit RGB output handled via the CameraLink base configuration.

The camera also offers user-selectable 8 or 10 bit raw output allowing host-based RGB decoding.

The camera is capable of a range of speeds, from 1/60 to 1/300,000 second and boasts a host of impressive features such as: edge pre-select, pulse width, RCT trigger modes, programmable exposure, auto shutter and smear-less readout.

Of particular interest in traffic and high-end security applications is the auto iris lens video output, auto shutter and AGC, which allow the camera to operate in a wider range of lighting conditions.

Setup is via Windows NT/2000/XP and software via RS-232C or CameraLink.

The JAI CV-M71 is ideally suited to a variety of colour inspections, especially in such fields as food processing, inspection and packaging, and print-verification applications.

The CV-M71 is available immediately with volume pricing available upon request.
