New cameras include new features not previously available on SONY cameras including a 10 bit output capability and inbuilt frame-store enabling up to 16 cameras to be triggered simultaneously.

Following on from the success of the popular XCD X700 and XCD SX900 range, Sony has launched the updated XCD X710 and XCD X910 with a range of new features and improvements.

Both cameras employ a progressive scan CCD with square pixels, making them ideal for a variety of industrial applications.

The XCD-SX910 incorporates a 1/2 type 1,450,000 pixel sensor and offers SXGA resolution images, while the XCD-X710, the XGA version of the XCD-SX910, incorporates a 1/3 type 800,000 pixel sensor.

The cameras include a number of new features not previously available on SONY cameras including a 10 bit output capability along with an inbuilt frame-store enabling up to 16 cameras to be triggered simultaneously on a single firewire bus.

The frame rates have also been doubled from the previous models with the SX910 delivering 15 fps and the X710 delivering 30 fps.

As with the previous cameras they include an external trigger function, allowing fast moving targets to be clearly captured, partial scan to increase frame-rate and selectable output modes (frame rate/bit depth).

The new products launch with all this additional functionality and performance with the same pricing as previous models.
