Firstsight Vision Join Forces With Stemmer Imaging

From 1st July 2004 Firstsight Vision will join a new group of companies headed by Stemmer Imaging of Germany, Europe's largest distributor in the Scientific vision components sector.

Since starting over 7 years ago, Firstsight Vision has grown from simple roots into the foremost distributor of Industrial and Scientific vision components in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

The Management of Firstsight Vision has announced that from 1st July 2004 the company will join a new group of companies headed by Stemmer Imaging of Germany, Europe's largest and most successful distributor in the sector having been in business for over 30 years.

With a group turnover in excess of 25M Euros and a significant overlap of product portfolio, the new group will improve the service to our customers by consolidating stock and ordering, thus enabling us to offer more products on significantly shorter lead-times and at better pricing - along with enhanced technical information and support.

By taking advantage of the economy of scale provided by working at an European level, the company will be able to rapidly introduce a number of service enhancements including an innovative web-based technical support "knowledge base" and online access to product pricing and availability, some of which are not possible when operating solely at a local level.

By becoming part of the new group Firstsight Vision are well positioned to continue to lead the U.K machine vision market." The Management and Staff in our Tongham office will remain unchanged and all customer inter-action will continue to be handled via our U.K.

Stemmer and Firstsight are not new acquaintances, Stemmer was a founding shareholder in the company from its inception and for the last three years Wilhelm Stemmer has been a non executive Director of Firstsight Vision.
