The new CV-A436 remote head camera from JAI is the latest in the popular 'A' series of machine vision cameras.

It shares many features with the CV-A11, but with a faster frame rate, faster shutter and remote head.

The CV-A436 uses the latest generation of VGA resolution progressive scan 1/3" CCD sensors, allowing for a compact head size of just 17 mm diameter x 46 mm length (same dimensions as the popular CV-M536 colour camera).

The remote head is connected to the camera controller (29 x 44 x 66) via a detachable robotics grade 2-meter cable.

The CV-A436 is designed around JAI's double speed technology, allowing high frame rate without sacrificing S/N ratio.

The CV-A436, has a frame rate of 60 frames/second for full VGA resolution, while maintaining a S/N ratio of >53dB.

There are several binning and partial scan readout modes, allowing frame rates up to 268 frames/second at 1/6 partial scan.

All setting of camera functions, such as trigger modes, readout modes, shutter speed and gain/offset level, are accessed via the RS-232C serial interface.

This eliminates the need for rear panel switches, which simplifies configuration and makes unwanted tampering by operators impossible.

The CV-A436 has a standard analogue composite video output, compatible with a wide range of frame grabber boards.
