Coating measurement is Windows-based
A portable version of a bench material coating measurement system's harware and software platforms used in a compact, hand-held unit are Window-based.
The Helmut Fischer Group has developed its portable hardware and software platforms to attain the functionality of a bench system in a Windows CE convenient and compact hand-held unit called the Dualscope FMP100 Fischer told manufacturingtalk.com that production managers and engineers had found Fischer's MMS-PC coating and material property measurement system to be versatile

Software shows 'at a glance' if there's a weakness in a manufacturing process or production line, such as in electroplating or heat treatment operations.
Coating thickness instrument is easy to use
An online demonstration has been set up to show how an advanced, hand-held coating thickness instrument is easy to use and how it does everything that a bench-mounted instrument can do.
The reasons are its broad functionality and its modular design.
These features allow the user to combine and configure different test methods for virtually any coating/substrate combinations.
Fischer said it is a perfect solution for plating shops, PCB manufacturers and those in the automotive or aerospace industries.
* Probes - like the MMS-PC, the FMP can be configured with multiple Fischer Smart Probes, so that the user can perform non-destructive measurements using magnetic induction or eddy current test methods.
In addition, a robust probe connector is added and is believed by Fischer to be the first of its kind in a hand-held.
The unit has a bright colour graphical display with a touch screen, which can be customised to show a range of statistical evaluations.
It's easy to use, said Fischer, with its flexible and adjustable user interface.
Other practicalities like drag and drop printform configuration, printforms in PDF format and automatic data backup make this a 'must-have' on the shop floor, said the company.
Fischer said that it is a new platform for all future hand-held units in design, hardware and software, with development openings like FDD statistical analysis program 'for free'.
