A Fastener Fair product story

More than 1000 specialist trade buyers from the UK and Ireland visited Fastener Fair Coventry to access 130 suppliers specialised in serving the UK and Ireland's fastener and fixing industry.

More than 1000 specialist trade buyers from the UK and Ireland visited Fastener Fair Coventry in early April 2006.

"That is a great number," said organiser Jerry Ramsdale, "Reflecting the fact that this exhibition is deliberately narrowly focused on one sector - fasteners and fixings - and one precise geographical location - the UK and Ireland." Fastener Fair Coventry was one of the first events ever to take place at the new Coventry Arena.

"The venue worked really well and was popular with exhibitors and visitors, particularly as it is so easy to get to, parking is free and there is such a businesslike atmosphere when you're there," said Ramsdale.

"So it has been an easy choice to return to the Coventry Arena when the UK and Ireland Fastener Fair next takes place, in Spring 2008.

By then, the venue will have even more to offer, including a new casino, bars and restaurants on site, plus new hotels nearby that are already being built." Ramsdale is delighted with the success of Fastener Fair Coventry, the latest in a long line of Fastener Fairs held around the country over the last 11 years.

"The show went really well and we've had great feedback about the amount of business done.

But an exhibition is nothing without the support of its exhibitors and visitors, all of whom I would like to thank," he said.

"We are not 'resting on our laurels', though, and will be introducing new features to make Fastener Fair Coventry 2008 even better." Visitors in 2006 enjoyed exclusive access to over 130 suppliers specialised in serving the UK and Ireland's fastener and fixing industry, with every sector well represented: fastener and fixing manufacturers; fastener and fixing suppliers; wholesalers; specialist software providers; and suppliers of tools and tooling.

In addition to the exhibition, there were many formal and informal networking opportunities, the highlight of which was the ever-popular Gala Dinner.

This year it took place in dramatic surroundings, overlooking Coventry City's championship league football pitch, with entertainment by top comic Adrian Walsh.

The industry's focus now turns to the pan-European event for this sector, Fastener Fair Stuttgart, which will run on 19 and 20 September 2007 in Stuttgart, Germany.
