Meet The New Packaging Standard
On January 23rd, 2003, UKAS made a formal presentation to the first organisations to be accredited as Certification Bodies against the new BRC/IOP Packaging Standard.
The next course will run the week commencing 1st December 2003 in Reading.
This 5-day course trains food industry auditors in the principles of auditing companies for the production of safe foods using the ISO 9000:2000 series and the ISO 15161:2001 (Guidelines on the application of ISO 9001:2000 for the food and drink industry) standards.
According to Dominic Parry, Head of Training at FIT-R, "Clearly, where food companies have invested heavily to implement a food production system that complies with international standards it is essential that the auditors who can pass or fail that system should be properly qualified.
FIT-R can now give the food industry an assurance that lead auditors who have passed through our course are equipped with the necessary skills for auditing against ISO 9000:2000 and ISO 15161:2001.".
