A major supply chain integration project win in the global manufacturing sector has been announced for a polymer plant based in Brazil.

Fuego, a global leader in Business Process Automation (BPA) software, today announced the selection of Fuego 4 as the orchestration software for a supply chain collaboration project with OPP Quimica, the Petrochemical resins player headquartered in Latin America Using Fuego 4, OPP completely integrated the Baan enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and i2 supply chain management (SCM) modules for its polymer subsidiary

The company expects drastic reductions in finished goods inventory and overall logistics costs, as well as an increase in sales forecast accuracy and on-time delivery performance.

The announcement was made today at i2 Planet 2002 in Las Vegas.

Through the perfect integration of people, processes and applications, Fuego is controlling and guaranteeing the integrity of activities, data and transactions involving the SCM and the ERP.

"The manufacturing of polymers is a very complex process, and Fuego has brought two important benefits to our i2 SCM implementation: Fuego ensures the integrity of our data and it gives us a more transparent view of our entire system," said Paulo M de Lemos, Vice President of OPP Quimica.

Using Fuego 4, OPP now has a transparent end-user view of the processes behind its business.

The end-user does not have to worry about where data is coming from or going to.

"Another key point of success was eTopware's methodology (a Brazilian Fuego Value Added Partner) for process mapping and Fuego's implementation and integration into OPP's operational environment", Paulo Lemos added.

"Fuego 4 allows organizations with complex manufacturing processes and systems to take a `business first' approach to improving their bottom line," said Mark Theilken, CEO of Fuego.

"Previously purchased applications no longer dictate how our customers manage their business and the processes driving their day-to-day operations.

With Fuego 4, their business runs based on a custom defined process model that executes on an orchestration engine.

The process orchestration engine has the intelligence to fill the functional gaps between what they bought and what they need." Theilken added.

Fuego's 4 is a business process automation tool that integrates and orchestrates business services, while at the same time reduces the cost and complexity of designing, deploying and evolving them.
