A specialist in the development and manufacture of clarification technology for the alcoholic beverage industries, has installed a fully packaged steam generation plant room.

AB Vickers, specialists in the development and manufacture of clarification technology for the alcoholic beverage industries, has installed a fully packaged plant room from Fulton Boiler Works to provide steam for cleaning and sterilising tankers and de-mountable tanks, hot water for the mixing process and for heating The purpose built pre-fabricated plant room is constructed from double-skinned, pre-stressed galvanised steel panels and features a gas-fired Fulton 60J vertical steam boiler, a water treatment plant with softener and chemical dosage system and a tank fitted with a solid state level control and steam injection system

All equipment within the plant room is wired in accordance with IEE regulations.

Commenting on the installation, engineering manager Dave Wardle says: "We have used Fulton boilers on-site for over thirty years so when we decided to upgrade our existing boiler system, they were the obvious choice." The 60J boiler, which is constructed to BS2790 1992 Class 1, has an output of 960kg/h (F and A 100degC) and a maximum working pressure of 10.43 barg.

It was supplied with a Fulton feed water pump, sample cooler, automatic blowdown system with steel exhaust head and a condensate return and feed water system with a nominal capacity of over one-thousand litres.
