GMI has announced the release of the carbon dioxide sensor for the Visa personal gas detector.

GMI has announced the release of the carbon dioxide sensor for the Visa personal gas detector.

The new sensor detects CO2 by Infrared in the range 0 to 5% Volume resolving to 0.05% and provides Hi Hi Alarm at 2.5%, STEL alarm at 1.5% and LTEL (TWA) alarm at 0.5% for use in confined space applications.

Accuracy of detection is ensured as the infrared detection principal adopted is not effected by any cross sensitivity or pollution from other gases.

A further benefit of the Infra-red sensor is the life span, GMI warranty covers the cell for 4 years, with expected life of over 5 years.

Typical applications include confined space monitoring and personal protection in the Nuclear, Brewing and Marine industries among others.

In conclusion the Visa is a low cost, lightweight, accurate and robust gas detector providing peace of mind in safety critical applications, with the additional advantage of infrared CO2 detection available.
