Sunlight-readable display for GX 1000 A
Glacier Computer announces its new 1350 nit sunlight-readable LCD enhancement.
Glacier Computer, a leading developer of versatile and powerful industrial computer systems for harsh environments specifically designed for mobile and fixed mount data collection, announces its new 1350 nit sunlight-readable LCD enhancement.
This important feature makes Glacier's GX 1000 A computer easy to read in any environment.
The GX 1000 A is a rugged PC-compatible industrial computer built for harsh environments.
Typical installations include forklifts, dock doors and manufacturing/shop floors.
The introduction of a true sunlight-readable display will broaden the market for GX 1000 A.
"We often receive inquiries from operators who are interested in the functionality of the GX 1000 A, but in need of true sunlight readability.
These prospective customers come from diverse industries, including oil, agriculture, marine, and public safety, to name a few.
This display now offers them a viable solution," states John Geary, Vice President of Sales.
There are numerous ways to address sunlight readability with varying results.
Transflective displays and special coatings are often used in an effort to save cost or battery life on portable devices.
The GX 1000 A uses four specially developed backlight inverters providing 1350 nits of brightness.
Traditional laptops, as an example, run at less than 300 nits and are impossible to read outside during the day.
The GX 1000 A is an 800 MHz computer with display, touch screen, and multiple standard I/O ports.
The unit is capable of running all Windows operating systems and works with numerous local and wide area wireless networks.
GX units can be mounted on vehicles, carts, and in fixed locations.
