The Gartner Group states that 50% of all IT projects are delivered over budget.

And according to Aberdeen, 90% of all completed IT projects are late.

One of the most frequently overlooked, but most crucial aspects of any large project is accurate cost and time estimation.

Many companies are struggling to improve IT processes to figure out how much a project will really cost, how many people it will really require, how much time it will really take to complete.

Cost estimating models often deal well with subsystem costs, but not as well with the cost of integrating subsystems into systems - which can be substantial.

Galorath, a leader in cost estimation software, is preparing to launch a new version of Seer-H, a cost estimation and decision support tool for complex projects that include ground, air, space and sea vehicles, electronic devices, industrial equipment, consumer electronics and appliances.

Seer-H uses the labor and material costs of the sub-systems along with system-level complexity factors to compute system-level costs for the following categories: - Systems engineering and integration - Integration, assembly and test - System program management - System teat operations - System support equipment The software lets users configure the system-level cost calculation so costs can be included for any of the five categories as well as any roll-up level of the system.

Seer has been used for more than 10 years by the military, governments, and Fortune 1000 companies to accurately estimate costs for highly complex projects.

Recently selected as the corporate standard at Ford Motor Company and Bank of America.

Confirmed to deliver variances of less than 10% between projected costs and actuals for Raytheon and Northrop Grumman, with individual projects as low as 2%.

Approved as a "best practice" within Lockheed Martin.

We would be happy to send you a white paper that explains how Galorath handles system-level costs in Seer-H and/or a very good PowerPoint presentation, as well access to customers and people who are experts on system-level costing.
