Fanuc GE reveals latest CNC controls

A Fanuc GE CNC UK product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Sep 17, 2008

The latest version of the 0i Series model D CNC controls from Fanuc GE CNC are designed for both milling and turning applications.

The 0i Series model D controls are available in three versions (packages A, B and C), which all vary in performance.

The 0i-MD milling control with package A can control up to five axes (four simultaneously) and two spindle motors.

The turning controls from the 0i-TD series with package A will control two paths with eight axes (maximum of five on one path) and three spindle motors (maximum of two on one path).

All 0i controls are equipped with an embedded Ethernet feature, which simplifies data transmission.

The control units are also fitted with a PCMCIA slot for inserting a flash memory card.

Whether used in turning or milling applications, 0i-D Series controls can implement the 'nano-interpolation' function to satisfy demanding finish requirements.

This function generates positioning commands in nanometre units, which downstream servo amplifiers convert into the corresponding currents.

High-quality servo systems can follow the cutter path much more accurately because interpolation does not round off even the slightest movements.

Key features of the 0i-D Series include extra options for configuring the control system according to the requirements of the customer.

User interfaces can now be arranged in a specific way using the C-Language Executer and Fanuc Picture functions.

The easiest option for the machine manufacturer is to configure the interface on a PC and then transfer the configuration to the CNC control.

Fanuc NCGuide/NCGuidePro enables users to quickly understand the functions of the CNC so that manufacturers can adjust the performance of a machine on a PC.

The Manual Guide i workshop programming software is available as an option for all CNC controls from the 0i-D Series.
