Ping Fu of Geomagic selected to speak at international conference on mass customisation

Ping Fu, president and CEO of Geomagic, has been selected to speak at MCPC 2005, the 3rd Interdisciplinary World Congress on Mass Customisation and Personalisation.

The event will be held September 18-21 at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

MCPC 2005 brings together scholarly research and advances in business practices in the field of mass customisation and personalisation (MCP), which aims to provide goods and services that fulfill individual customers' needs with near-mass production efficiency.

Fu's presentation will draw on Geomagic's experience in applying digital shape sampling and processing (DSSP) for mass customisation of custom-designed orthodontics, digital dentistry, hearing instruments, artificial knee joints, and other medical devices.

Fu co-founded Geomagic in 1996 and was named president and CEO in 2001.

Under her leadership the company has expanded around the globe and increased revenues by 2,105 percent over the past five years.

Geomagic is an international leader in DSSP, which enables users to digitally capture physical objects and automatically create accurate 3D models for design, engineering, inspection and custom manufacturing.
