The appointment follows the recent relocation of the TCP operation to Milton Keynes following GE Fanuc's acquisition of TCP.
"Distec has a proven expertise in TCP operator interfaces including technical and configuration support" said Rod Hall - Market Development Operator Interface.
"Distec will provide a full range of distribution services and technical support focused on connectivity with a wide range of third party products such as PLCs, HMIs and SCADA systems from most of the major manufacturers including GE Fanuc, Siemens, Allen Bradley etc" he added.
Commenting on their appointment, Distec's MD Noel Sheppard said, "We have provided technical and sales support for QuickPanel for many years and the new distribution agreement strengthens the relationship even further.
TCP Operator Interfaces are ideal for a wide range of industrial automation applications where static or dynamic graphics displays are required to give an information-rich picture to the operator in a single glance".
The QuickPanel models available from Distec include a portable Handheld QuickPanel with 6.l" display, ideal for configuring and monitoring machinery on the factory floor, a choice of 5, 6, 9 and 10.5" monochrome and colour versions, and top of the range models offering 12.1" colour TFT screens.
They provide a full set of panel operations which can be used as a practical and cost effective replacement for a wide variety of discrete devices such as push buttons, selector switches, pilot lights, text and numeric data displays etc.
They all share the same Windows-based GPPro graphics editor that includes powerful library functions.
