Decision making based on real time factory data
Proficy Real-Time Information Portal 3.0 Manufacturing Intelligence Application provides users with business insight from plant data in real time.
GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms has introduced real-time manufacturing intelligence application, Proficy Real-Time Information Portal 3.0.
It allows users to gain business insight from plant data in real time.
Providing visibility into plant floor operations, it enables real time decision support, continuous process improvement and enhances the return on current and future IT investments.
Product manager software for GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms Europe, Bernard Cubizolles, said "GE Fanuc embraces an open and layered technology approach allowing Proficy Portal to report on plant floor data from third-party manufacturing technologies".
He added that it was an important element to preserving customers' investments while extending their capability to improve performance.
Proficy Real-Time Information Portal provides a rich, web-based environment for developing and deploying visualisation, analytical and reporting applications.
As a pure web-based application, Proficy Portal allows the end user unprecedented access to data and control over how to visualise and analyse it.
Cubizolles added: "In addition, it features interactive analysis of real-time and historical data sources through trend charts, grids and data links".
"This provides users insight into the operation of their plant for making crucial improvements to quality and efficiency".
The release enhances Proficy Real-Time Information Portal's capabilities in three areas.
1 - It offers a tighter integration with GE Fanuc's production management software like Proficy Plant Applications.
2 - The context of plant floor data is improved with new tools to represent it like dials, gauges, and a heat map.
3 - The version 3.0 takes a step forward in its ability to mine third-party databases with its enhanced statement builder and improved interaction with that data through enhanced forms capabilities.
A single web client combines content from other GE Fanuc software applications, such as Proficy HMI/SCADA - iFIX, and data from across all on-line data sources within the plant and the organisation allowing for real-time decision making at all levels.
Proficy Portal's graphical presentation rapidly communicates essential information from more complex data sets for notification of alerts, status changes and data summaries.
As the Web client for the entire GE Fanuc software portfolio, Proficy Real-Time Information Portal provides a consistent set of tools for analysing and reporting disparate process, lab and shop-floor SPC systems, along with interfaces to off line Six Sigma tools such as Minitab.
Proficy Real-Time Information Portal is a thin client application that runs under the Microsoft IIS webserver and connects to plant floor technology such as OPC, HMI/SCADA, quality systems, production management systems and third-party databases.
It provides self-service ad-hoc reporting, and presents data in its natural presentation form.
