Synchronised tapping chuck extends
cutter life
Synchronised tapping chuck has a cushioned soft start feature compensates for the dwell period when the tap 'bottoms out' prior to reversing and so extends threading cutter life.
New from Gewefa at MACH 2004 was a Synchro Tapping chuck that greatly extends the life of the threading cutter and improves cutting performance On machine tools with synchronous control, errors in synchronisation can impact greatly on reducing cutter life and accuracy, particularly in deviating from the gauge size

Swiss toolholder supplier appoints UK agent
PCM Willen SA, the innovative Swiss based designer and manufacturer of an extensive programme of toolholding and broaching products has appointed Gewefa UK as its primary UK distributor.
Now, with this new chuck, a cushioned soft start feature compensates for the dwell period when the tap 'bottoms out' prior to reversing.
This eliminates damage to thread profiles and flank wear, as well as prolonging the cutter life.
Another Gewefa innovation is a new design of RadAx hydraulic chuck.

Chucks clamp turn and bore tools hydraulically
Among the major new tooling products introduced at MACH 2006 was a revolutionary VDI hydraulic clamping chucking system for turning and boring.
A feature of this RadAx HM chuck is its single chamber cutter holding system, which has 12 supporting walls to produce better cutter security.
It is particular suited to high speed applications and can also be used to hold cutters for heavy duty milling applications.
Finally, as the UK's market leader in shrink clamping technology.
Gewefa continues to innovate.
A new 'H20' toolholder features angled through-coolant holes in order to deliver maximum volumes of coolant directly at the cutter surface.
The effect of this is much improved swarf evacuation and improved cutter and insert life.
The coolant holes are machined parallel to the toolholder profile.

At MACH, Zoller exhibited a Venturion 400/Saturn 2 CNC pre-setter.
This top-of-the-range unit has a fully automatic CNC control to allow tool measuring without operator intervention, other than to press the measure button.
The Venturion range of pre-setting and measuring machines is available in 14 different measurement ranges (400mm to 1400mm) with 4 software levels from 'Quicktouch' to Saturn 2 CNC.
The highlight of the Pibomulti equipment on display was the recently introduced 50,000 rev/min spindle speeder, which is claimed to be the fastest mechanical speeder available.
The universal unit has a 10:1 inlet/outlet ratio and is available in DIN 69871A (40-50), CAT BT 40 and 50, HSK 63, 80 and 100 and VDI 30, 40 and 50 formats.
Each unit has a power output of 2kW and a maximum chuck capacity of 8mm.

The world's largest range of special and standard collets are available from Simon Nann who will showing for the first time, a comprehensive new range which is interchangeable with System Hainbuch clamping heads and to suit the same manufacturer's power chucks.
The new collets offer high clamping forces, accuracy and rigidity and are hardened with interchangeable rubber inserts.
They are suited to work piece-clamping, bar or chuck work and come with a range of four bore pattern options.
The comprehensive range is available in SK32, 42 and 65 diameters and both special sizes and units with profiled bores can be supplied with very short lead times.
