GibbsCAM post processors approved by
Mori Seiki
post processors that was developed to support 5 - axis programming of Mori Seiki's NMV line of CNC machine tools has been validated by Mori Seiki.
Developer of GibbsCAM software for programming CNC machine tools, Gibbs and Associates, said that the set of GibbsCAM post processors developed for Mori Seiki's NMV line of CNC machine tools has been validated by Mori Seiki GibbsCAM's posted output supports the 5-axis simultaneous CNC machining capabilities of these machine tools

Ease-of-use spreads CAM system's popularity
Machining CAM system has gained worldwide popularity, said the provider, owing to its ease-of-use approach combined with a powerful programming and factory supplied post processors.
Founder and CEO of Gibbs and Associates, Bill Gibbs, said that accurate post processors are still a problem with advanced machine tools.
He explained: "This is certainly the case when dealing with 5-axis machine tools.
Working directly with Mori Seiki DTL, we were able to significantly reduce the time it took to develop the set of post processors for their NMV series".

The Mori Seiki NMV series of machine tools are high-precision, 5-axis CNC vertical machining centres (VMC).
Using Mori Seiki's DCG (Driven at the Center of Gravity) technology, vibration is controlled oin the VMCs allowing for high precision at high speeds.
Mori Seiki said that its DCG technolohy virtually eliminates vibration ensuring a high quality surface finish, outstanding acceleration performance and improved roundness.
* CNC modelling - in addition to developing post processors for the Mori Seiki NMV line, Gibbs told manufacturingtalk that it had also developed accurate machine models of the NMV8000 DCG and NMV5000 DCG for use with GibbsCAM's Machine Simulation capability.
Machine Simulation allows program motions to be fully simulated to identify potential programming errors, which would otherwise result in expensive collisons in machine tool operation.
