A Gildemeister product story

Home, European and Asian markets have significantly contributed to first quarter success for Gildermeister

The interim report on the first quarter's trading just released by Gildemeister confirms a 23% increase in orders worldwide to Euro416.1 million and sales revenue to Euro320.3 million (+17%).

It also records a profit of Euro4.8 million as at 31st March 2007, a sharp rise on the previous year's figure of Euro1.1 million.

There is early indication that this trend will continue throughout the 2007 financial year and EMO 2007 in September will certainly provide added impetus.

The Gildemeister aim is to achieve an order intake of over Euro1.5 billion in the forthcoming year.

Taking existing order book figures into account this should translate to a sales revenue target of more the Euro1,370 million.

A double-digit percentage increase in annual profit is therefore foreseen.

The Gildemeister share price has also increased by 30%.

On the first day of trading in 2007 share value was Euro9.84.

At the end of the first quarter it closed at Euro12.82.

The company's workforce has grown too.

Since December last year the company has 89 more employees bringing the total to 5,647 worldwide (41% international) of whom 163 are trainees.

Domestic sales revenue in the first quarter rose by 18% to Euro141.8 million and internationally figures were up by 16% to Euro178.5 million; the export sales quota remained unchanged at 56%.

Domestic and international order intake showed a respective increase of 17% and 28% on the same quarter in the previous year.

Naturally the company is delighted with its order intake figures which are above expectation.

The home, European and Asian markets have been a major contributor to this success and evidence of further growth in eastern European markets such as Russia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania and Slovenia is expected during this financial year.

Exhibition activity worldwide has proved to be an excellent source of new orders and therefore the Gildemeister trade show calendar confirms participation in 59 events worldwide during the year as well as more in-house exhibitions.

The main highlight is of course EMO 2007 in Hanover at which Gildemeister will present more than 60 product exhibits of which 11 will be world-firsts.
