Hollow ceiling anchor fastens hangers in
place
For the mechanical and electrical market a hollow-ceiling anchor has been developed specifically for fastening hangers with stud ends into hollow-core concrete beams.
Two of the UK's most innovative companies have combined forces to produce a complete fixing solution for the mechanical and electrical market The outcome of the partnership between Gripple and fischer Fixing Systems is an FHY hollow-ceiling anchor, developed specifically for fastening Gripple hangers with stud ends into hollow-core concrete beams

Inverter power sources serve robotic MIG welders
ABB has developed ARCITEC II, a new generation of IGBT inverter power sources designed specifically for the robotic MIG/MAG welding of all materials used in metal fabrication.
Designed and approved for hollow core sections such as Bison slabs, the anchor features: * Flared flanges on the anchor to prevent slippage.
* Locking barbs preventing the anchor dropping out during installation.
* A taper section with an internal thread for use with Gripple Hangers with stud ends.

Welding processes tuned 'off-line'
A powerful software tool that gives robot welding engineers full 'off-line' control of the MIG/MAG process provides efficient 'off-line' welding process tuning to predict a wide range of results.
Tony Rice, Product Manager with Gripple Ltd Industrial Division, said: "This is a significant breakthrough for the market.
The high expanding capacity of the anchor makes it a suitable for use in both solid material and hollow-ceiling slabs.
"The FHY anchor provides a more reliable and stronger fixing than a drop-in anchor and is easier to install into a ceiling than a resin anchor, complementing the well established qualities of Gripple Hangers." Fischer's Construction Market Manager, David McLaren, says: "The product is a result of extensive testing with Bison Concrete Products.
It has a high load bearing capacity and installation is possible at virtually any point in a slab and in material thickness of more than 25mm." Gripple Hangers consist of a high-tensile steel wire rope with an adjustable self-locking grip for positioning and securing any M and E service.
They have been have been used on major construction projects worldwide covering industrial buildings, distribution centres, warehouses, offices, schools and hospitals.
They are part of a family of products developed by the fast-growing Gripple organisation, based in Sheffield, England.
Gripple, of The Old West Gun Works, Savile Street East, Sheffield, was formed in 1988.
It has sold in excess of 130 million products worldwide, available in more than 50 countries.
The Gripple, used initially in agriculture and subsequently viticulture, has been developed and adapted into a hanging system for the industrial and construction markets.
Fischer has produced a world leading range of fixing systems for over 50 years and hold more European technical approvals than any other fixings manufacturer.
