Thermal Expansion Testing from DMA
A new DMA from Triton Technology Ltd, sold exclusively in the UK by Gearing Scientific Ltd can now do thermal expansion testing (TMA) both in solvents and in air or other gases.
A new DMA from Triton Technology Ltd, sold exclusively in the UK by Gearing Scientific Ltd can now do thermal expansion testing (TMA) both in solvents and in air or other gases This is seen to be particularly important in industries where the polymer or composite item is continually exposed to rain, salt water, brake fluid, oil or body fluids

Research polymers and standards for calibration
New polymers with particular relevance to polymer and pharmaceutical research are now available in 1 or 5 gram quantities in Europe exclusively from Gearing Scientific.
In addition to TMA the DMA gives the softening point (Tg) or glass transition as well as the modulus or stiffness and damping of the polymer at a wide range of temperatures and vibration frequencies.
This apparatus, typically under 30,000 pounds Sterling, is much less expensive than earlier DMAs yet can outperform many of them through clever modern electronics and the convenience of all the data being in Microsoft Excel for ease of use in other data handling packages.
Many such systems are already in use in the UK, and the system for contract testing at Gearing Scientific Ltd in Hertfordshire is in almost constant use for a whole range of industries.
