As a result of the refurbishment, which was completed in summer 2004, the quality of GDS's products has been further improved.

The investment into the Cornedo site has included extensive refurbishment of the clean rooms in order to better accommodate new products.

Superior temperature and humidity control systems have also been installed to prevent any damage to LCD panels during the production process, ensuring GDS's displays are of the highest quality.
As part of the renovation there has been a major investment into the Large Screen LCD manufacturing equipment in order to keep the process as automated as possible and to minimise damage on the line.
New lines have been added for the manufacture of these Large Screens LCDs, whilst all CRT product lines have been transferred to GDS Taiwan in order to make capacity for the new lines.
A large outdoor test facility has also been created to carry-out testing of monitors in a simulated 'true to life' environment, and the warehousing at the site has been refurbished to provide extra capacity.
This is to accommodate increased volume requirements from both new business and existing clients.
For the benefit of employees, the factory floor has been revamped to accommodate an air-conditioning system and anti static flooring has been fitted.
The ceilings have also been lowered for improved lighting and to ensure ambient conditions.
Finally, the Quality Control Department has been refurbished, to distinguish it from Stores.
Marco Cohen, Marketing Manager at GDS explains, "The renovation of GDS's Italian manufacturing site has proven a worthwhile investment.
The revamped clean room, neat and organised production lines and the overall improvement in working conditions has had a positive impact on staff's approach to work and ultimately benefited our customers." Reputable companies, Cosma, Guidolin and Diquigovanni were involved in the site's renovation, and all work took place without any disruption to production.
