Global Display Solutions (GDS), the market leader of innovative display solutions for industrial applications, announces the launch of its updated 30inch TFT Public Information Display (PID) This completely flat 30in TFT has a higher pixel format than the earlier model, which was launched at the end of 2002 (1280 x 768 x 3 colour compared with 280 x 768 x 3 colour)

It also has larger mechanical dimensions than its predecessor 29.5 x 19 x 4.5in compared with 27.6 x 17.5 x 4.6in (L x H x D).

GDS's latest 30in TFT gives the same performance as Gas Plasma, without the screen burn effect commonly associated with this type of display.

Highly reliable, the display has a mean time between failures (MTBF) of 50,000 hours (45,000 hours for its predecessor) before relamping, keeping maintenance costs minimal.

Advantages of the 30in TFT are as follows; Completely flat LCD High resolution Wide viewing angles Colour and brightness uniformity High reliability backlight Uniform full screen high brightness No image burn retention Large screen 16:9 aspect ratio Greater MTBF than CRT Low cost of ownership Easily installed This 30in TFT has a clear and easy to view screen and uses power reservedly without compromising the output quality, compared with CRT technology, which needs more power and gives an inferior image.

The 30in TFT can be tailored to fit into existing locations or can easily be designed to fit new requirements.

The 30in TFT from GDS uses a universal power input of 90-260 Vac 50/60 Hz 2A.

Video compatibility can be Analog RGB, 15pin DSUB Standard and options of DVI, LVDS, TV-in and S-video.

The new large screen 30in TFT can capture the attention of audiences clearly and precisely and can be used in flight and rail information displays, public information kiosks, retail exhibitions, trade shows and conference rooms.
