Swinglink elevators handle products gently
Swinglink elevators, designed for gentle handling of extruded food products as part of an extension to the packaging lines, maintain product integrity and require minimal maintenance, says a user.
Zeina process and pack approximately 3000 tonnes of pistachio nuts per annum at its factory in Ossett, near Wakefield.
The Swinglink Bucket Elevator technology developed by Gough is designed to reduce the risk of unscheduled downtime and eliminate product spillage.
The system, which consists of an all stainless steel construction with plastic chain and 9" buckets, has a maximum capacity of 3200ft3/h.
It is especially efficient at handling high volume throughputs where the elimination of spillage and contamination is critical.
At Zeina Food's Ossett factory, which receives sacks of raw nuts, mainly from Iran and California, for light brining, roasting and packaging for retail sale, pistachio nuts are graded to a precision of plus or minus one nut per ounce.
Zeina Foods General Manager Safa Ali said: " We have invested continually and conscientiously in the most scrupulous and precise cleaning and grading equipment and this commitment to technology is reflected in our decision to install Gough Engineering's Swinglink Bucket Elevator system.
It is trusted technology, which is vital in this business.".
