P80F has one full-duplex 100MB switched fibre port and seven switched 10/100 full/half auto-negotiating RJ45 ports.
While the fibre port is typically for a backbone connection, the switched RJ45s can be used for a high performance workplace server, power users, or to cascade to another P80 unit for expansion.
The fibre port supports full distance LAN cabling to an upstream wiring cabinet and is available with multi-mode ST, SC or MRTJ connectors, or with a single-mode SC-type (to support up to 65km).
For applications where the fibre port is not needed, an N-way copper port can be substituted.
In a typical application, a P80F Personal Switch is used in an individual's multi-system office, or to support a small work group, a remote office or a classroom.
It is easy to install and use.
Addresses of attached nodes are automatically learned and maintained, adapting the switching services to network changes and expansions for plug-and-play operations.
Flow control maximises throughput across all ports.
Top-mounted LEDs provide port status information.
P80F uses an external AC power supply and can be wall-mounted.
