The Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education recently hosted a Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) meeting and delivered a session on Traceability Systems to an audience of CILT industry members, along with Logistics and Food Manufacturing Management Foundation Degree students Neilsen Busk, Traceability Systems Manager at the Institute delivered the seminar, entitled 'Traceability and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) in the Supply Chain', giving an overview of traceability systems and RFID and its current applications

The CILT event also offered an opportunity to highlight funding support at Level 3 for small logistics, supply chain, warehouse and distribution companies based in the Humber region.

The CILT programme in particular will provide potential supervisors and first line managers with a relevant set of management skills and is also ideal for employees who are already in these roles.
This programme, which has a distinct vocational bias, will equip individuals with a sound foundation for a career within the logistics, transport and supply chain field.
The standard cost for this course is subsidised for eligible companies and it is due to start in January 2007.
Above all, this qualification opens up opportunities for those already in employment, who thought education wasn't for them but want to succeed.
