The progress of jobs through the manufacturing process can be monitored on any PC on the network and WIP Master can be linked to other MRP or ERP systems.
The system will allow the configuration of up to 20 tasks at any given production cell and WIP Master can produce a bar coded job card to accompany the product throughout the manufacturing process.
The card lists each task and features a bar code which, when scanned, records that task as completed.
Operators scan their ID badge and a job card number at the start of the task and the system time and date stamps the entry automatically.
The last task scanned in the process will close the job and, if required, trigger the production of an address label.
WIP Master has already been installed by a number of GSM Printer and Label Systems' customers, including leading international manufacturer of display and exhibition equipment, Nimlok, which has seen improvements in product tracking on its production lines at its Wellingborough factory.
