GSM Printer and Label Systems, the printer and labelling systems arm of the GSM group, has launched OdetteMaster V6 at the East Midlands Manufacturing Exhibition in Donnington, UK, recently.

Commenting on the OdetteMaster V6, Martin Cameron, general manager of GSM Printer and Label Systems, said, "GSM have worked closely with first tier suppliers in the automotive sector to develop the functionality of the new software, specifically concentrating on both the ease of installation and 'invisibility' of the software.

Version six represents the next development in the proven OdetteMaster product line and boasts significant enhancements.

You can create product labels, box end labels, build cards and print to different printers simultaneously.

In addition, weights and quantities are calculated automatically so there is no chance of shipping errors.

We have given the new software an XP look and feel.

With the integration of the GSM EDI Mapper software, users can now import EDI information directly from their customers straight to the label package.

For manual configuration all the operator needs to do is select the correct template.

In many cases the systems will be automated with the template being selected automatically from the customer's EDI message.

Whether you use the software in manual or automated configuration the EDI translation scripts avoid the need for consultation fees when a new EDI template is taken on or if a customer alters their message construction.
