Printing/labelling software is easy to install

Printing and labelling company works closely with automotive first tier suppliers to develop the functionality of new software, concentrating on ease of installation and 'invisibility' of software.

Caparo Tube Components are realising the benefits of their new GSM OdetteMaster system.

Caparo purchased the system, along with other GSM products, and have been excited by the excellent results and time saving that they have achieved.

Caparo required the services of GSM Printer and Label Systems for tracking several components produced for Nissan Spain including fuel fillers and gussets.

Previously labels for these products were produced manually, leaving the potential for human error.

If such an incident occurred then Nissan would reject the components.

In addition Nissan Spain wanted a fully automated system that would work in conjunction with their newly introduced work flow system called Cross Dock.

Cross Dock labels the parts so they can be sent directly to the line and the OdetteMaster provides the software to do this.

Phil Timmins, the IT manager for two sites of Caparo Tube Components, emphasised the breath of the GSM offering, "In addition to the OdetteMaster Software GSM supplied us with a number of products, such as a Zebra Z6M printer and labels.

The OdetteMaster Software is excellent and exceeds all our expectations.

The results live up to the performance and functionality outlined by GSM Printer and Label Systems." Version six represents the next development in the proven OdetteMaster product line and boasts significant enhancements.

You can create product labels, box end labels, build cards and print to different printers simultaneously.

In addition, weights and quantities are calculated automatically so there is no chance of shipping errors.

Cameron said: "We have given the new software an XP look and feel.

With the integration of the GSM EDI Mapper software, users can now import EDI information directly from their customers straight to the label package.

Traditionally two systems sitting side by side would be needed to achieve this functionality." Timmins continued by commenting on the benefits of the products and services provided by the OdetteMaster from the GSM team, "The speed of the system is definitely the advantage over the previous techniques and fits the efficiency profile that we had been looking for.

This is backed up by the flexibility of the system which allows us to make the necessary changes in production to suit our needs." He added: "The aspect of doing business with GSM which made the transaction so good was a culmination of the pre, during and post service.

This involved a demo of the functions, installation and training as well as an immediate response to any problems we encountered.

The quality of the software and kit was a bonus and we would not hesitate to use the service of GSM Printer and Label Systems again in the future." Caparo Tube Components have found the OdetteMaster V6 to be of high quality, reliability and production.

OdetteMaster software is available as a boxed, stand alone package or alternatively GSM will be happy to bundle it into a package with a number of different Thermal transfer and Laser printers to choose from.
