A label which sticks to wet and oily products, withstands more than 300degC and is designed to remain in place for 25 years, is the end result of a development programme between two companies.
They are one of GSM's main suppliers and have maintained a harmonious working relationship which has seen the two companies work in unison for a number of years.
Specifically, GSM use the diverse range of thermal printers that Datamax manufacture and this range enables them to reach the varying strands of the market.
Datamax are the pioneers of several advances in barcode labelling technology and have produced some of this industry's most groundbreaking and dependable product developments.
They supply a range of rugged and durable printers to a trade that has a requirement for resilient and robust equipment.
Their worldwide network of technical specialists and field sales personnel gives them a global presence and, along with brand awareness, contributes to the benefits which Datamax offer.
GSM have taken advantage of the Datamax services, working in conjunction with the printer suppliers to optimise their work on the OdetteMaster software.
General Manager of GSM Martin Cameron comments on why Datamax were chosen over the rest of the competition, "When targeting the automotive market we found that Datamax could meet the requirements of the project because of the specifications of their printers in relation to the necessary output".
"With the OdetteMaster software, we required specifications for the printing of wide labels".
"The wide label printing software that Datamax produce is the most advanced of its kind and an essential part of GSM's leading edge service".
GSM also worked with Datamax to provide a stand-alone solution for a company called ATCO.
This involved the use of Datamax's MCL technology which basically negates the need for a laptop or PC to send barcode information to a printer.
The information is uploaded directly to the printer instead, making it the intelligent device over the laptop or PC.
Through the implementation of this technology ATCO were able to reduce the cost of computer equipment and justify the system.
Datamax Consultant, Jay Batavia, commented on their ongoing relationship with GSM by saying, "Our work with GSM is successful because they possess the profile that we look for in a business relationship".
"They are leaders in the field of barcode and labelling equipment being sold to the automotive, logistics and manufacturing markets".
"GSM are a value added systems integrator, offering a total solution including consultancy, expertise, hardware, consumables (labels and ribbons), and service".
General Manager of GSM, Martin Cameron, added, "Both ourselves and Datamax have enjoyed an excellent working relationship with each other".
"There is no conflict because we share the same aims, which are to ensure the satisfaction of the end users of our products".
"We will continue to work together in the future to supply our customers with the high quality solutions that they have come to expect from GSM".
