Dumping applies to mould and die tools
too

South Wales based FSG Tool and Die was a double winner at the recent Production Engineering Solutions Awards ceremony held at the GTMA 60th Anniversary Lunch at the Savoy Hotel, London.
During his presentation, US Senate Representative Don Manzullo, informed delegates that the US International Trade Commission was investigating the alleged unfair competitive conditions facing domestic tool, die and industrial mould associations.
In the US, as in Britain, there is a strong belief that some foreign companies engage in the practice of "dumping", selling goods for less than the price of manufacture, causing major problems to the industry.
Roger Onions took the opportunity to call for the creation of equal trading conditions.
Urging the US and UK governments to act before it was too late, Roger called for a swift and appropriate response to the current crisis.
"We have to have an even playing field or we will get to the point where industry will collapse rapidly," said Roger, concluding, "I am certain our governments do not realise how serious the situation is."
