GTMA is growing from strength to strength

Two more UK companies, engaed in tool, mould and die making, have joined the UK's Gauge and Tool Makers' Association.

Two more companies, EDS Engineering of Chelmsford and Mouldrite in West Bromwich, have become members of the GTMA.

EDS Engineering, employs over 50 staff and specialises in toolmaking and mould tools as well as precision machining and small batch production.

The company, which was founded in 1957, supplies high technology clients in many sectors, including aerospace, defence and satellite communications.

The company has consequently gained considerable experience of a working with a wide range of materials including titanium, magnesium, nylon and even wood - for use in aerospace jigs and fixtures.

Mouldrite, a comparative youngster of a company, having been launched in 1989, employs nine staff on a broad portfolio of work, including sub-contract tooling for plastic moulds, die-casting, thermo-set and rubber tools for building plastics, domestic appliances and automotive.

Managing director Geoff York was enthusiastic about joining the association, "We see membership of the GTMA as part of our overall strategy of developing the business, strengthening our reputation where we are already known and increasing our credibility - and therefore our chance of winning business - in new markets.".
